Usually, I pick my own models and take my own photographs. We’ll knock out several hundred photos until I get " that look " . The one that jumps out and says " paint me " .

Oddly enough, Bette was her own photographer (and model) for this particular illustration. She fired off a pack of twenty slides to get my opinion of her work... and...
